Physiotherapy Clinic in Glasgow

Physiotherapists help people affected by injury, illness or disability through movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice. They maintain health for people of all ages, helping patients to manage pain and prevent disease.

The profession helps to encourage development and facilitate recovery, enabling people to stay in work while helping them to remain independent for as long as possible. (Chartered Society of Physiotherapy).

A physiotherapist will assess each client obtaining a full history of the injury/ issue as well as discussing the client’s past medical history before undertaking a physical examination of the area(s) involved. The physical examination may require you to undress but we will be mindful of any cultural or psychological factors that may influence this and the ongoing management of your injury/ issue. The findings of the assessment will be explained before discussing a treatment plan ensuring the client is involved in determining the goals they wish to achieve.

It is highly likely that you will have some ‘homework’ to complete in the form of an exercise programme or some advice to follow. The clinic uses the physitract system to send you the exercises via an app to your phone/ tablet/ computer.
